Accessibility
Our commitment
We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible. This statement is voluntary: we are under no legal obligation to provide it, and we do not claim conformance with any particular standard.
What this site does
- States are not conveyed by colour alone; they are also named (WCAG 1.4.1).
- Controls have a border with a contrast ratio of at least 3:1 (WCAG 1.4.11).
- On light surfaces, the wordmark's colours are replaced by darkened variants that reach a text contrast of at least 4.5:1 (WCAG 1.4.3).
- Form fields report errors programmatically via aria-invalid and point to the associated message via aria-describedby.
- The language of every page is marked up in the HTML and changes with the selected language version.
- Embedded videos from YouTube or Vimeo are loaded only after a click. Before that, a thumbnail image we host ourselves is shown, and no data is transmitted to the provider.
- A skip link at the top of every page bypasses the navigation and leads straight to the main content, which is marked up as such (WCAG 2.4.1).
- The "reduce motion" system setting is honoured: animations and transitions are switched off, and videos we host ourselves do not play automatically but can be started with a button.
- new: Videos we host ourselves that play automatically can be paused at any time with a button (WCAG 2.2.2).
- new: Text reaches a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 on grey surfaces as well, and every interactive element shows a clearly visible focus outline when using the keyboard (WCAG 1.4.3, 2.4.7).
The reduce-motion paragraph changes here too: its ending is now "can be started with a button" instead of "can be started from the player controls".
Known limitations
- On 4 October 2026 the website was audited against WCAG 2.1 AA. The issues found have been fixed, except for some image descriptions (alt texts), which we are currently revising.
